Fall is in full swing and mid MO is the perfect place to celebrate the season! No matter what your fall fix may be, there are plenty of local spots and events to explore this October and November.

Pumpkin patches are at the heart of fall, and mid Missouri has no lack of family-friendly farms for all ages. Shryocks Callaway Farms in Callaway County is always a yearly favorite, famous for its giant corn maze challenging new visitors year after year. In Ashland, Lloyd’s Family Farm offers wagon rides and a petting zoo, making it the perfect stop for families with young kiddos or any animal lover. Peach Tree Farms in Boonville offers a cozy, small-town feel with a variety of delicious fall baked goods and seasonal activities that make it worth the drive from any direction!

Fall would not be complete without a few fun festivals, of course. The Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival is one of the largest and most beloved traditions in the area. The small town comes alive and fills the streets with vendors, live music and thousands of pumpkins. Cooper’s Landing hosts Oktoberfest on the riverfront with live music and German-inspired food. Don’t overlook the Columbia Farmers Market, open every Saturday from 8-12, where you can find fresh produce, florals and plenty of seasonal treats. (Come see me at my booth!) To top it all off, nothing says fall like football season. Cheering on the Tigers at Faurot Field is a tradition of its own that brings the whole community together on fall Saturdays.

This time of year is the perfect season to slow down and take in the natural beauty of things. A drive along Highway 94 offers breathtaking glimpses of the changing leaves along the Missouri River. Or, the bluffs near Rocheport make the scenery especially memorable. While you’re in town, stop by Les Bourgeois Vineyards for a glass of wine and a view that rivals any other.

Fall only comes once a year, and this part of the state sure knows how to make the most of it. Be sure  to soak up the colors and take advantage of all the activities and traditions that make this season a local favorite.
