Curb Appeal: Fall Tips & Tricks

Summer is leaving, which means those summer plants need to go as well. Try switching flowers to a type that thrives in colder months so that they look vibrant and healthy when people are viewing your home. This is a wonderful way to show that the home is cared for, as well as adding to the curb appeal, making others want to look at your home even more!

Starting in October, holiday decorations are a huge hit for most families and households. Make sure that the decorations you choose for your house are thoughtfully placed and not overbearing. If the decorations are distracting from the home, this could cause issues for people attempting to imagine what it would look like without them. Decorations will help show off the character of a home, but could also take away from it!

During the crisp and cozy fall months, the sun is going down much faster than previous summer days. Make sure that you have sufficient lighting in the front of your house to really show off the features even during later hours when the sun isn’t prominent. This can be easily attained by changing out light bulbs that are losing their brightness, using lights as part of your decorations for the holiday months, or adding porch lights if they aren’t already a feature on the front of your house.

Leaves, leaves, LEAVES! They will be everywhere if you have trees around your property. The front yard is potentially the first thing buyers will see with showings, so make sure to get all leaves raked and moved for a clean perspective. Check your gutters and clean out any buildup. This can make a world of a difference for a potential buyer, both with maintenance and picturing other months, when they are viewing your home.
